(CHURCH STREET, BRITON FERRY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Network Rail to carry out bridge inspection works in the road.
The Order will come into force on the 18th May 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 1 night to complete.
SCHEDULE
Church Street will be closed from the junction of Railway Terrace in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 30m along its length.
The alternative Route vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Church Street, Regent Street West, Regent Street East, A474 Neath Road, and Villiers Street.
Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained
