ROUGHRIGG ROAD, AIRDRIE (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

On 27 April 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on carriageway and verge improvements) on Roughrigg Road, Airdrie from the junction of Craigends road to Eastwards and Northwards for a distance of 1400m or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Roughrigg Road, Stepends Road, Brownieside Road, A89 Airdrie Road, A89 Forrest Street, B8058 Towers Road, Towers road and Craigens Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, which will be effective on weekends only from 0001 hours on Saturdays until 2359 hours on Sundays, will come into operation at 0001 hours Saturday, 16 May 2026 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
