What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SEVENOAKS AREA

A25 Westerham Road, Bessels Green, TN13 2QB (PROHIBITION OF WESTBOUND TRAFFIC) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of NATIONAL HIGHWAYS LIMITED works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit westbound traffic on part of A25 Westerham Road, Bessels Green, on or after 18th May 2026 until 31st August 2026 or until the works have been completed.

A25 Westerham Road will be closed to WESTBOUND traffic over the A21.

Monday 18th May to Friday 22nd May 2026 between 20:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs only.

Friday 29th May 2026 at 20:00 hrs until Monday 1st June 2026 at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 5th June until Monday 8th June 2026 - 20:00 - 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 12th June at 20:00 until Monday 15th June at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 19th June at 20:00 until Monday 22nd June at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 26th to Monday 29th June 2026 between 20:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs only.

Friday 7th August at 20:00 until Monday 10th August at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 14th August at 20:00 until Monday 17th August at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 21st August at 20:00 until Monday 24th August at 06:00. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

Friday 28th August at 20:00 until Monday 31st August at 06:00, this is a contingency date. Continuous 24/7 weekend closure.

The continuous weekend closures will be commencing at 20:00 hrs and staying in place for the extent of the weekend, then removed by 06:00 hrs.

The alternative route for any through traffic is the A21 Southbound to Morleys Roundabout and return.



Blowers Hill, Buckhurst Lane, Mark Beech and Station Road, Cowden, TN8 7DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of the replacement of decayed telegraph poles and rehang associated cabling, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Blowers Hill, Buckhurst Lane, Mark Beech and Station Road, Cowden, on or after 8th May 2026 for up to 4 days between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Old Bakehouse and Moat Lane.

The alternative route for Station Road for any through traffic is via Station Road, B2026 Hartfield Road, Cowden Pound Road, Buckhurst, Wilderness Lane, Buckhurst Lane, Blowers Hill and vice versa.

The alternative route for Blowers Hill for any through traffic is via Mote Lane, Finch Green, Truggers Lane to Grove Road, Cowden Pound Road to Truggers Lane, Buckhurst Lane, Blowers Hill and vice versa.

The alternative route for Buckhurst Lane for any through traffic is via Cow Lane, Buckhurst, Wilderness Lane and vice versa.



Botsom Lane, West Kingsdown, TN15 6BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of SOUTH EAST WATER LIMITED works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Botsom Lane, West Kingsdown, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Cottage.

The alternative route is via Botsom Lane, Maplesc



Bradbourne Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 3QA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a new gas connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bradbourne Road, Sevenoaks, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 48.

The alternative route is via Bradbourne Road, A225 St Johns Hill, A225 Dartford Road, Mount Harry Road, Hitchen Hatch Lane, Bradbourne Park Road and vice versa.



Buckhurst Avenue & Suffolk Way, Sevenoaks TN13 1LX (PROHIBITION OF LEFT & RIGHT TURNS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow a new connection to a water main to be carried out on part of Buckhurst Lane, adjacent to the junction with Suffolk Way, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit left and right hand turns.

Works are planned from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026.

The left hand turn from Buckhurst Avenue into Buckhurst Lane will be prohibited and the right hand turn from Suffolk Way into Buckhurst Lane will be prohibited.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via the car park entrance and exit.



Carter’s Hill, Underriver, TN15 0SD (PROHIBITION OF NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To facilitate the Tonbridge Lion’s Triathalon event, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit northbound through traffic on Carter’s Hill, Underriver, on or after 4th May 2026 for up to 1 day or until the event has been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Mill Lane to St Julians Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bank Lane, B245 London Road, Morleys Roundabout, A225 Riverhill, St Julians Road.



Charcott, Leigh, TN11 8LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of SOUTH EAST WATER LIMITED works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Charcott, Leigh, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 12 Old Orchard.

The alternative route is via Charcott, Camp Hill and vice versa.



Darent Valley 10K Road Race - Various Roads, Sevenoaks (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Darent Valley 10K Marathon 10th May 2026

For the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway, Kent County Council has made an Order to restrict traffic on various roads as defined below.

A225 High Street, Eynsford Road, Eynsford
Northbound from the entrance to Anthony Roper School to the junction with Gorse Hill Southbound from 150 yards North of Priory Lane up to the entrance to Anthony Roper School

A225 High Street, Farningham
In both directions between its junction with Eynsford Road and Sparepenny Lane

Riverside, Eynsford
Entire length

A225 High Street, Eynsford, A225 High Street, Farningham, Riverside will only be closed for approx 10 mins whilst the runners start.

Sparepenny Lane, Farningham/Eynsford - closed for the duration which will be between 8.30am and 10.30am.
In both directions between its junction with A225 High Street, Farningham and Riverside
Diversion: from Wested Lane/Crockenhill Lane via the A20 and Eynsford Road

The Order will be effective when required on Sunday 10th May 2026 between 08.30hrs and 10.30hrs. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply in the direction and only at such times as indicated by traffic signs in operation.

Nothing in the Order will apply to:

• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.

• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.

• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.



Greenfields, Hodsoll Street, TN15 7LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of SOUTH EAST WATER LIMITED works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Greenfields, Hodsoll Street, on or after 18th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Green Man.

There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.



Heaverham Road, Kemsing, TN15 6NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of disconnection works to a water supply, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Heaverham Road, Kemsing, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Phylma.

The alternative route from the junction of High Street is via Heaverham Road, High Street, West End, Childsbridge Lane, Church Street, A25 High Street, A25 Maidstone Road, Broad Oak Lane, Watery Lane and Heaverham Road.

The alternative route from the junction of Watery Lane is via Heaverham Road, Watery Lane, Broad Oak Lane, A25 Maidstone Road, A25 High Street, School Lane, Childsbridge Lane, West End, High Street and Heaverham Road.
