Portsmouth City Council (M275) (Temporary Road Closure) (No.88) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 15th May 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
M275
In its entirety (northbound and southbound carriageways).
M275 Junction 1 On Slip To Junction 12 M27
In its entirety.
M275 Junction A3/a2047 And End Of Motorway To Junction 1
In its entirety.
M275 Junction A3/a2047 On Slip To Junction 12 Of M27
In its entirety.
M275 Junction 12 Of M27 On Slip From A3/a27
In its entirety.
M27 To M275 Link Road From East
In its entirety.
M275 Junction 12 Of M27 To Junction 1
In its entirety.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bridge joint replacement works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15th May 2026 to 28th September 2026. Notwithstanding the above works will take place between 21:00 on Friday to 06:00 on Monday (weekend closures, to be notified in advance) or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted:
Northbound Closure: Twyford Avenue, Northern Parade, Western Road
Southbound Closure: M275, A27 Eastbound, Farlington Roundabout, A27 Westbound, London Road, Northern Parade, Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw Road.
M27 Eastbound, A27 Eastbound, Farlington Roundabout, A27 Westbound, London Road, Northern Parade, Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw Road.
M27 Westbound, to junction 11 M27 Eastbound, A27 Eastbound, Farlington Roundabout, A27 Westbound, London Road, Northern Parade, Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw Road.
