What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CARLTON IN LINDRICK BRIDLEWAY NO.7) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

To continue the effects of THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CARLTON IN LINDRICK BRIDLEWAY 7) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) NOTICE 2026.

That Notice came into force on 26th March 2026 and was continued in force to 6th May 2026.

The effects are that:-

No person shall:-

(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed,

in the following length of Bridleway at Carlton in Lindrick in the District of Bassetlaw: -

Carlton in Lindrick Bridleway No.7

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows:-

No alternative route available via Public Rights of Way.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows:-

To 26th September 2026.

The Continuation Order will come into force on 7th May 2026 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed The duration of this Order may be extended with the approval of the relevant Secretary of State.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to unsafe ground conditions requiring remedial works.
