What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30 April 2026
Wolverhampton City Council made the following
Experimental Order under Sections 1 (1), 2(1) to (3),9,
10(1) and (2), of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and
all other enabling powers.
The effect of the Order which
comes into operation on 8 May 2026 is as follows:
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (CITY
CENTRE) (PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE)
(LOADING) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2026
This Order will prohibit any motor vehicle to load or un-load
at any time of day on any Pedestrian Way identified in the
below Schedule:

1. Old Hall Street Its entire length
Exemptions will apply to the above Orders for authorised
enforcement vehicles and emergency services.
The Order will be implemented on an experimental basis
for eighteen months. The Council will be considering in due
course making the Order (or the latest variation or
modification of the Order), permanent.
A copy of the Order, Statement of Reason and Plan showing
the parts of the roads affected by the Experimental Order
may be inspected during normal office hours at Main
Reception, Civic Centre, St Peter’s Square, Wolverhampton
or viewed online at , or
http://wolverhampton.gov.uk/troperm
by using the QR Code below, or by emailing
Commercial.Property@wolverhampton.gov.uk.
Any objections to the Order being continued indefinitely
should be made in writing to the undersigned within
6 months of 8 May 2026. If the Order is varied by a
subsequent Order or modified pursuant to Section 10 (2) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Order 1984, from the date that
Variation Order or modification comes into force.
