What is happening?
THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (KILNBANK ROAD, MARKET DRAYTON) (WIDTH RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
On 28 April 2026 Shropshire Council made an order to:
- Revoke the 2T weight limit on that length of Kilnbank Road, Market Drayton which extends from its junction with Walkmill Road to its junction with Shropshire Street.
- Introduce a 2.4m width restriction for vehicles travelling on Kilnbank Bank, Market Drayton from its junction with Shropshire Street to the property boundary of no. 27 Kilnbank Road Market Drayton TF9 1LB and no. 27A Kilnbank Road Market Drayton TF9 1LB.
These changes will come into effect on 2 May 2026.
A copy of the order may be examined during normal office hours (8:45am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45am-4:00pm on Fridays) at Shropshire Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or any provisions in it, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 28 April 2026, apply for that purpose to the High Court.
