THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAKEFIELD
(BLENHEIM ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 135) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new water connection works to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Blenheim Road, Wakefield outside number 5. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Blenheim Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Belmont Street, Kensington Road, Richmond Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 5th May 2026 to 8th May 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for litter picking, grass cutting, road sweeping, tree pruning & gully cleaning to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Park Mill Lane, Flushdyke, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Park Mill Lane.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to rectify a defect on faulty reinstatement to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Mountbatten Avenue, Pontefract, approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Mountbatten Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Walton Lane, Barnsley Road, Chevet Lane, Walton Station Lane, Mountbatten Avenue & vice versa.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to repair blocked duct in carriageway to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Long Causeway, Wakefield. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Long Causeway.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Belgrave Terrace, Belgrave Mount, Eastmoor Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 18th May 2026 to 20th May 2026 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH 29, ADDINGFORD CLOSE, HORBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 149) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for a brick wall to be stabilized to be carried out on or near Footpath 29, Horbury, near Addingford Close, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpaths.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Addingford Lane, Southfield Lane & vice versa.

The order comes into operation on 1st May 2026 to 8th October 2026.

(SOUTHFIELD LANE, HORBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 150) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to resurface carriageway to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Southfield Lane, Horbury at the junction of Quarry Hill. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Southfield Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Cars – Southfield Lane, Cluntergate, Highfield Road, High Street, Westfield Road, Storrs Hill Road, Old Bridge Road, Southfield Lane & vice versa.

HGVs – Quarry Hill, New Road, Wakefield Road, Barnsley Road, Bar Lane, Denby Dale Road, Charlesworth Way, Ings Road, Westgate End, Horbury Road, Quarry Hill, Southfield Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 17th May 2026 07.00 hours to 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(QUARRY HILL, HORBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 151) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to resurface carriageway to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Quarry Hill, Horbury for approximately 70 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Quarry Hill.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Highfield Road, High Street, Westfield Road, Storrs Hill Road, Old Bridge Road, Southfield Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 17th May 2026 07.00 hours to 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FINKIN LANE, STANLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 100) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Finkin Lane, Stanley, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Finkin Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 8th April 2026 to 12th June 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. The closure was originally due to be in force until 5th May 2026, however it is necessary to extend it until the 12th June 2026 as above.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WORDSWORTH GROVE, STANLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 28) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for footway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wordsworth Grove, Stanley, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wordsworth Grove.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A dead end road.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd March 2026 to 5th May 2026, 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. The closure was originally due to be in force until the 21st April 2026, but was extended until the 28th April 2026. It is now necessary to extend it further until the 5th May 2026 as above.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible. Dated this 30th day of April 2026
