A30 Winchester Road, Mapledurwell and Up Nateley, Basingstoke & Deane - Temporary Road Restrictions due to civil engineering works

What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.  
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of A30 Winchester Road between its junction with Saunders Way and continuing to a point 100 metres Southwest of Hounsome Drive on A30 Winchester Road. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the road closure will be required for no longer than 13 days and only in operation at night between the hours 20:00-06:00 starting on the day Monday 17th August 2026)  
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Northbound towards Basingstoke & Deane for non-motorway traffic- A30, A33, A34, A33, A31, Selbourne Road, Whitedown Lane, Petuis Avenue, A339, Alton Road, Hackwood Road, A30. Southbound towards Winchester is the same route but reversed.  
TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION- To impose a 30-mph temporary speed restriction on the following road:   That part of A30 Winchester Road between its junction with Saunders Way and continuing to a point 265 metres Southwest of Hounsome Drive on A30 Winchester Road. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the speed restriction will be required for no longer than 5 months starting on the day Monday 18th May 2026)  
DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 18th May 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner.   
The Temporary Road Closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for KAMM Civil Engineering Ltd to carry out S278 works safely. (using 24/7 lane closures as and when required) If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order please contact: mikec@kammce.co.uk.
