Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Bridge Street, Whitby Swing Bridge, Order 2026, No. 203 We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Whitby Swing Bridge for pedestrian safety on the following dates: 10:30 am to 4pm on these dates; 01/05/26 (Spring Goth weekend) & 02/05/26 to 04/05/26 (Early May Bank Holiday weekend); 23/05/26 to 25/05/26 (Spring half term & Late May bank holiday weekend); 30/05/26 & 31/05/26 (Spring half term weekend); 18/07/26, 19/07/26, 25/07/26 & 26/07/26 (July summer school holiday weekends); 01/08/26, 02/08/26, 08/08/26, 09/08/26, 15/08/26, 16/08/26, 22/08/26, 23/08/26, 29/08/26, 30/08/26 (August summer school holiday weekends) & 31/08/26 (August bank holiday); 10/08/26 (Whitby Regatta); 05/09/26 & 06/09/26 (September summer school holiday weekend) & 24/10/26 & 25/10/26 (Autumn half term weekend). 10:30 am to 5pm on these dates; 30/10/26 (Goth weekend); 31/10/26 & 01/11/26 (Autumn half term weekend, Goth weekend & Hallowe’en). It is envisaged that the restriction will be in force from 01/05/26 until 31/12/26 inclusive. The closure period will only apply as indicated by the placing of traffic signs & a local alternative route will also be signed on site where appropriate.
