What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(ASHLEY STREET) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton
City Council propose to make an Order under Section
14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary
Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from
proceeding on Ashley Street at its junction with Queen
Street.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of
eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will
be undertaken on 12th May 2026, between the hours
of 09:30 and 14:30.
The diversion route is: Mount Pleasant, Willenhall
Road, St Chads Road, Lunt Road, Queen Street & vice
versa.
The Order is required to facilitate works to
repair/replace a defective frame and cover by Severn
Trent Water.
