What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF CHURCH LANE, SEWERBY

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Part of Church Lane, Sewerby from outside
13 Church Lane to the junction of Main Street
commencing 26 May 2026 at 08.00 hours until
8 June 2026 at 17.00 hours to allow works for high
profile gas mains reinforcement. The road closure is
necessary to enable the works to be carried out in
a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the
public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
14 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via Church Lane, Marton
Gate, Wheatley Drive, Sewerby Road and Cliff Road,
Bridlington CP, Bridlington North Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
