THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CORPORATION STREET, STATION ROAD AND MILL STREET, CHESTERFIELD) (RESTRICTED ZONE) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that, on the 23rd Day of April 2026 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 4th Day of May 2026 and its effect is:
TO INTRODUCE A RESTRICTED ZONE – NO WAITING/NO LOADING AT ANY TIME BY VEHICLES ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
From its junction with St. Mary’s Gate in an easterly direction to its junction with Station Road and its junction with Mill Street.
Mill Street, Chesterfield
From its junction with Corporation Street on a southerly direction for a distance of 18 metres.
Station Road, Chesterfield
From its junction with Corporation Street in a southerly direction for a distance of 14 metres.
TO INTRODUCE A LOADING BAY TO OPERATE BETWEEN 8AM-6PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
North side
From its junction with Mill Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 11 metres.
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
South side
From a point 14 metres southwest of its junction with Station Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 19 metres.
TO INTRODUCE A TAXI CLEARWAY TO OPERATE BETWEEN 6PM-8AM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
North side
From its junction with Mill Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 11 metres
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
South side
From a point 14 metres southwest of its junction with Station Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 19 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege.
TO INTRODUCE A DISABLED PERSON’S VEHICLE PARKING PLACE TO OPERATE FOR 3 HOURS, NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Corporation Street, Chesterfield
South side
From a point 28 metres east of its junction with St. Mary’s Gate in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 25 metres.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked. A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, Chesterfield Local Studies Library, New Beetwell Street, Chesterfield, S40 1QN. quoting reference Z3401, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until 4th Day of June 2026. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 23rd Day of April 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
