What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(THE AIG WOMENS OPEN 2026, LYTHAM ST ANNES, FYLDE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this order.
1. To temporarily prohibit waiting, loading and unloading at any time on the following lengths of highway laid out in the no waiting, loading and unloading schedule to this order.
2. The prohibitions will be operative from 0001 hours on Monday 18th May 2026 until 2359 on Friday 28th August 2026.
3. Nothing in Article 1 of this order shall apply to anyone undertaking operations as part of the event.
Any prohibitions may be removed before its stated end time if deemed safe and appropriate by the event holder.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the safe holding of the AIG Womens Open 2026.
