What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BELSWAINS LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Belswains Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Newell Road north westwards to its junction with Franklin Close, a distance of approximately 67m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Belswains Lane, Lower Road, Red Lion Lane, Nash Mills Lane, A4251 London Road, Durrants Hill Road, Lawn Lane and Belswains Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 14 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON WINDMILL HILL/THE COMMON, CHIPPERFIELD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Windmill Hill/The Common, Chipperfield from its junction with Dunny Lane north eastwards to its junction with Kings Lane, a distance of approximately 260m (“the length of Roads”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Dunny Lane and The Street. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Roads whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads. The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MISWELL LANE, TRING) ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Miswell Lane, Tring from a point in line with the north western boundary of No.128 Miswell Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Miswell Lane, B488 Icknield Way, B4635 (Aylesbury Road/ Western Road) and Miswell Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, NORTHCHURCH AND LITTLE GADDESDEN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Dunster Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Shenley Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Tattershall Drive, a distance of approximately 139 m.
An alternative route will be via Dunster Road, Tattershall Drive and Shenley Road.
2. that length of B4506 New Road, Northchurch from its junction with A4251 High Street north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Kiln Lane, a distance of approximately 3299m.
An alternative route will be via A4251 (High Street/Tring Road), B4635 London Road, Station Road, Toms Hill Road and Kiln Lane.
3. that length of Hudnall Lane, Little Gaddesden from its junction with Nettleden Road North north eastwards to its junction with Dagnall Road, a distance of approximately 1837m.
An alternative route will be via Nettleden Road North, Nettleden Road and B440 (Leighton Buzzard Road/ Dagnall Road).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHOLESBURY ROAD, TRING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cholesbury Road, Tring from a point 45m north east of its junction with Tring Town Public Footpath No.007 north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Cholesbury Road, Cholesbury Lane, Hawridge Common, Hawridge, Wigginton Road, Chesham Road and Cholesbury Road.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MALTING LANE, ALDBURY) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Malting Lane, Aldbury from a point in line with the western boundary of No.6 Malting Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because foul sewer connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Berkhamsted from its junction with Gravel Path north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Gravel Path, Ravens Lane, A4251 High Street, Lower Kings Road and Station Road. The Order is needed because gas works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 18 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:
1. the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the eastbound carriageway of A41 (unnamed road), Berkhamsted from its junction with the A416 Chesham Road/A416 Kingshill Way roundabout south eastwards, southwards and south eastwards to its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A41 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 362m.
An alternative route will be via A416 (Kingshill Way/ Kings Road), A4251 (High Street/London Road) and A41 (unnamed road).
2. the A41 eastbound slip road leading from the eastbound carriageway of A41 (unnamed road), Berkhamsted from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A41 (unnamed road) north eastwards and northwards for a distance of approximately 150 m.
An alternative route will be via A41 (unnamed road), A4251 (London Road/High Street) and A416 (Kings Road/ Kingshill Way).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 4 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON PANCAKE LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pancake Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Westwick Row south westwards to its junction with A4147 Leverstock Green Road, a distance of approximately 509m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Westwick Row, Green Lane and A4147 Leverstock Green Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 4 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
