TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MANSFIELD FOOTPATH NO.20, PACKMAN’S BRIDGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

To continue the effects of THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (MANSFIELD PUBLIC FOOTPATH 20) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) NOTICE 2026.

That Notice came into force on 10th April 2026.

The effects are that:-

No person shall: - proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Mansfield in the District of Mansfield-

Mansfield Footpath No.20 - the short section where it passes over Packman’s Bridge

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route on public highway but there are permissive paths and footbridges both sides of the river on Mansfield DC Land.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows:-

To 9th October 2026 inclusive.

The Continuation Order will come into force on 1st May 2026 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed The duration of this Order may be extended with the approval of the relevant Secretary of State.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety following a safety assessment of the bridge.
