THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (STRIDINGEDGE, WASHINGTON) Temporary traffic regulation ORDER 2026
Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 28th April 2026 it made an order under section 14(1) of the road traffic regulation act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the section of footpath described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for maintenance works to the gas main. The order comes into force on 11th May 2026. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take 15 days. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the sections of footpaths described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided via the adjacent highway network. Schedule Stridingedge from the extended party property boundary of 176 & 177 Stridingedge, to its eastern extent.
