BOURNEMOUTH TOWN CENTRE

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN:

Exeter Road -

• loading bay outside The Moon in the Square to be used as taxi bay. Taxis will move to existing bay when space becomes available

• bus stop clearway, 15m to be used as a loading bay/taxi bay (to be temporarily marked onsite). Loading bay in operation 07:00hrs to 19:00hrs daily. Taxi bay in operation 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs daily

Anticipated dates 23rd May 2026 until 28th February 2027

The following roads will be no parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time -

Bourne Avenue, opposite boundary of Hampshire House for approx.25m to facilitate relocation of the bus stop (suspension payment parking) – anticipated dates 4th May 2026 until 28th February 2027

Westover Road, outside boundary of No.10 for approx.35m eastwards (suspension payment parking)- anticipated dates 23rd May 2026 until 28th February 2027

Gervis Place -

• boundary of No.3 to the boundary of No.13 (suspension of taxi bay)

• boundary of No.23 for a distance of approx. 10m eastwards (suspension of disabled bay)

• boundary of No.36 for a distance of approx. 24m eastwards (suspension of loading bay)

Anticipated dates 23rd May 2026 until 28th February 2027

The following roads will be closed to all vehicles with no parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time –

Old Christchurch Road, access may be limited during resurfacing works -

• Lansdowne Roundabout junction to boundary of No.270 Old Christchurch Road – anticipated dates 4th May 2026 until 15th May 2026.

• Lansdowne Roundabout junction to boundary of No.222 Old Christchurch Road – anticipated dates 18th May 2026 until 19th May 2026.

• No.222 Old Christchurch Road to boundary of No.146 Old Christchurch Road – anticipated dates 20th May 2026 until 21st May 2026.

Glen Fern Road, from the junction with Old Christchurch Road for approx. 24m southwards – anticipated date 22nd May 2026. Access may be limited during resurfacing works.

Westover Road, from the junction with Gervis Place to the junction with Bath Hill Roundabout – anticipated dates 18th May 2026 until 22nd May 2026. No vehicular access to the Pavilion or Westover Road Car Park. Emergency access to be maintained.

Gervis Place, from the Lower Gardens pedestrian crossing to the junction with Westover Road – anticipated dates 23rd May 2026 until 28th February 2027. No vehicular or emergency access.

WHY: To facilitate highway works including bus improvement works by BCP Council

ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained access to properties will remain depending on site safety (unless stated otherwise).

DIVERSION: Via signed routes

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.

The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this traffic order.
