NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 18th May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 18th May 2026 and 5th June 2026).

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be:

1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;

The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon the need to facilitate the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles during periods of increased pedestrian and vehicle activity associated with events, including the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and the Love Saves the Day music event, taking place at the Ashton Court Estate. The Order will be operative from 23rd May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

However, the closures and associated restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the need to close and restrict the roads during periods of increased activity, which are anticipated to take place between the dates specified in Schedule 6 to this Notice (subsequent additional periods of restriction may also be necessitated by any further events that may take place at the Ashton Court Estate within the next eighteen months).

Exemptions:
Item 1. above – Exemption is provided in the Order for official event shuttle buses with the exception of Clanage Road (A369).

Item 2. above – Exemption is provided in the Order for vehicles with a valid Bower Ashton Residents’ Parking Area Residents’ permit and for pedestrians requiring necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible only from Courtlands Lane or Parklands Road.
