CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BASSETT ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bassett Road, Leighton Buzzard opposite number 10.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 26 May 2026 between the hours of 0900 and 1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Mill Rd, Church St, West St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of North Street, Leighton Buzzard outside number 6.

This temporary closure is required to enable comms pipe repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 28 May 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period. There is no alternative route.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Clarence Road, Leighton Buzzard from junction With Heath Road to outside number 2.

This temporary closure is required to enable junction changes and realignment work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 May to 12 June 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Garden Hedge, Church St, Heath Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 11 May 2026 between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The Order will come into operation on 11 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 13 May 2026 between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Ivy Lane, Stapleford Mill Road, Stoke Rd, Old Linslade Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
