TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF RESTRICTED BYWAY 6, LAKENHEATH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Restricted Byway 6, Lakenheath from 60 metres west of the junction with Footpath 12 for 100 metres westbound to facilitate works to be carried out to upgrade the telecoms mast. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/05/2026 - 22/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Footpath 22, Middleton at the railway crossing to facilitate safety during an inspection of the railway track. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1017 King Street, Ipswich from the Corn Exchange for 25 metres eastwards to facilitate remedial works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Museum Street, Friars Street, Queen Street and to and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a temporary suspension of one-way traffic on the U1017 King Street, Ipswich to allow access and egress.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 8am on 05/05/2026 - 5am on 06/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a temporary 40 mph and 30 mph speed restrictions on the following roads:

40 mph Speed Restrictions

• A143 Bury Road, Depden from 80 metres north of Elm Cottage to the entrance with Suffolk Highways Depot

• A143 Bury Road, Depden from the junction with Church End for 75 metres northbound.

• U7064 Church End, Depden from Rectory Cottage for 50 metres southbound.

30 mph Speed Restrictions

• A143 Bury Road, Depden from Suffolk Highways Depot to the junction with Church End.

• U7064 Church End, Depden from outside Highweek to the junction with Bury Road.

This is to facilitate temporary traffic signals to install fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 05/05/2026 - 09/05/2026 from 7pm to 6am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended that the closure will operate from 04/05/2026 - 06/05/2026 from 10am - 3pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the:

• B1079 Theatre Street, Woodbridge from the junction with Market Hill to the junction with New Street.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 05/05/2026 - 07/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
