Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Aerodrome Road, Elvington Lane & Paddlesworth Lane, Hawkinge, CT18 7EF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Aerodrome Road, Elvington Lane & Paddlesworth Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 30th April 2026 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed between the hours of 19:00 and 03:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Aerodrome Road will be closed at the junction with Elvington Lane and Paddlesworth Lane.

Elvington Lane will be closed at the junction of Aerodrome Road and Paddlesworth Lane.

Paddlesworth Lane will be closed between the junction with Siskin Close and Elvington Lane.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Aerodrome Road, A260 Spitfire Way, A260 Canterbury Road, Coach Road, School Road, Paddlesworth Court, Teddars Leas Road, Paddlesworth Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Brambley Crescent, Folkestone, CT20 3PU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brambley Crescent, Folkestone, on or after 11th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 50 to outside number 52, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brambley Crescent, Fremantle Road, Enbrook Valley and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Bridge Street, Folkestone, CT19 5EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow crane works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic & parking on part of Bridge Street, Folkestone, on or after 11th May 2026 until the works have been completed.

Restrictions are planned in 2 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Works will be carried out from 11th May 2026, with estimated completion by 11th May 2026.

There are contingency dates from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 18th May 2026.

Phase 2 - Works will be carried out from 15th June 2026, with estimated completion by 15th June 2026.

There are contingency dates from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd June 2026.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Bridge Street will be closed from the junction of Canterbury Road to outside & opposite number 2.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed from the junction of Canterbury Road to outside & opposite number 2.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, Sidney Street, Arthur Street, Bridge Street and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bridge Street, Alexandra Street, Denmark Street, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Curtis Lane, Stelling Minnis, CT4 6AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Curtis Lane, Stelling Minnis, on or after 12th May 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Curtis End, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A mandatory 30MPH speed limit will be imposed from the junction of B2068 Stone Street to outside Whitegates, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Curtis Lane, Bossingham Road, Wheelbarrow Town, High Minnis, Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Donkey Street, Burmarsh (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Donkey Street, Burmarsh, on or after 14th May 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Little Piece, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Donkey Street, Lower Wall Road, Botolphs Bridge Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Hythe Road, Burmarsh Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Frostland, Newchurch, TN29 0DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Frostland, Newchurch, on or after 14th May 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Norwood Farm & Campsite, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frostland, Newchurch Lane, Norwood Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch, TN25 7LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch, on or after 27th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Honeywood Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Honey Wood Lane, Frogmore Lane, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



North Street, Folkestone, CT20 1QP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Folkestone, on or after 27th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside numbers 1 to 6 Channel View, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Radnor Street, A260 The Tram Road, Warren Road, Wear Bay Crescent, Wear Bay Road, East Cliff Gardens, The Durlocks and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sark Close, Dymchurch (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit pedestrian traffic on part of Sark Close, Dymchurch, on or after 13th May 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

Pedestrians will be prohibited outside 22 Tartane Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sark Close, Tartane Lane, Hind Close and vice versa.



Teddars Leas Road, Etchinghill (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Teddars Leas Road, Etchinghill, on or after 28th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 40m West of Shearins Bungalow, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Teddars Leas Road, Canterbury Road, Broad Street, Station Road, Canterbury Road, Beresforstal Hill, Oak Hill, Coach Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Spitfire Way, Aerodrome Road, Paddlesworth Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe, as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 1st May 2026 for a period of up to 9 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.

SCHEDULE

Folkestone & Hythe

A260 Spitfire Way, Hawkinge

The road will be closed between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only.

Between the junctions of Swann Way and White Horse Hill.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A260 Spitfire Way, Aerodrome Road, Canterbury Road, White Horse Hill and vice versa.

B2011 Dover Hill, Folkestone

The road will be closed between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only.

Between the junctions of Crete Road East and A260 Hill Road Roundabout.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A20 Hougham Slip Westbound On, A20 Trunk Road, A20 Dualcarriage Way, A260 Canterbury Road and A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Canterbury Road, A20 Dualcarriage Way, A20 Trunk Road, A20 Hougham Eastbound Off, B2011 Folkestone Road and B2011 New Dover Road.
