ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Byway Pevensey 17)
(Temporary Byway Closure) Order 2026

To protect public safety during works being carried out by Pevensey and Cuckmere Water Level Management Board to replace a network of culverts, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following byway:

Temporary Byway Closure

Part of Public Byway Pevensey 17 will be closed to all users between TQ 6273 0814 and TQ 6160 0839. There is no alternative route.

The Order is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Act 1984, as amended.

The closure will be in force for 6 months from 29 April 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the byway still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U2075 Butts Lane, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Butts Lane – from the junction with U2077 Wish Hill to Coombe House.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 27 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2070 Royal Sussex Crescent, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Royal Sussex Crescent – from the junction with U2070 Colwood Crescent to the junction with U2070 Downs Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2070 Downs Avenue, Colwood Crescent and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 May 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 15 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
