What is happening?

ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL

JOHNSHAVEN – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

“The Aberdeenshire Council (Herd Crescent, Johnshaven - 27.04.26) (Temporary Closure to Vehicular Traffic) Order, 2026” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984. The order will operate from 27.04.26 for 12 days and will prohibit any person from driving on Herd Crescent, Johnshaven from the junction with Castle Street for 35 metres.

Access will be provided for emergency and vehicles requiring access to properties but may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

The temporary restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety during overlay of a section of cables. An alternative route is available via Herd Crescent – The Backie – Castle Street – and vice versa. Details of the restriction can be viewed online at
