What is happening?


Traffic The County of Cornwall (Infra24-079) (Penzance) (Various Roads) (Restrictions on Waiting) (Amendment) Order 2026 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Cornwall Council proposes to make the above Order to regulate traffic in Heamoor, Penzance. The effect is to introduce restrictions on waiting along the lengths of road described below. 

This is part of highway infrastructure improvements which include proposed traffic calming (flat top road humps and road narrowing) under the provisions of Sections 90A-I of the Highways Act 1980. The effect will be to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety along the lengths of road described below. Existing speed cushions will be removed to give effect to the above. 

Copies of the relevant documents are available for public inspection during normal office hours at Reception, New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY.

No waiting at any time 
Boscathnoe Lane outside Nos 6-7 Poltair Mews and Mounts Bay Academy. 

Flat top road hump 
Boscathnoe Lane 1 flat top road hump (at junctions with Mounts Bay Academy entrance and exit) to be laid along the carriageway, having a rise of 75mm and length of 5m, and extending the full width of the carriageway. The stated horizontal and vertical dimensions are subject to permitted pavement construction tolerances. 

Road narrowing 
Boscathnoe Lane outside Mounts Bay Academy; B3312 between Madron Hill and the A30 Heamoor Roundabout opposite Nos 1-20 Poltair Terrace. 

Removal of speed cushions  
Boscathnoe Lane outside Mounts Bay Academy.
