(TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads, Kelso) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 2 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 06:00 and 22:00. The Order is required in the interests of public safety due to increased traffic attending Kelso Sevens.

When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the following roads in Kelso: Bowmont Street, Croft Road, Inchmyre, Poynder Place, Inchmead Crescent and Inchmead Drive.

(MARKET STREET, GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (Market Street, Galashiels) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation  Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months,  will come into force at 18:00 on 3 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 06:00 on 4 May 2026. The Order is required for BT works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Market Street, Galashiels from Overhaugh Street to Paton Street.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Overhaugh Street to the point of closure, Southbound traffic is via Ladhope Vale, Currie Road, George Craig Bridge and Paton Street.
