What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 23/03/2026 Angus Council made “The Angus Council (West Links Footbridge, Arbroath) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian Passage) Order 2026” under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that works to the NCN1 cycle track may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on Monday, 30 March 2026, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of nine days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of this Order is to prohibit pedestrian passage on or over the entire length of the footbridge over the East Coast Railway Line at West Links, Arbroath. The alternative route for pedestrians is via A92 Dundee Road, West Links Park and NCN1. The reverse route applies. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
