(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 5 November 2025, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 18 November 2026 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. 

The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. 

This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon path surfacing works and would have expired on 18 May 2026. 

SCHEDULE Public Footpath Acorn Drive to Avon Ring Road – from Acorn Drive to Newlands Bridge over the A4174 Avon Ring Road; Public Footpath PMR/8/80 – from Acorn Drive to Newlands Bridge over the A4174 Avon Ring Road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to vehicles the length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the road specified in column 1 of Schedule 2 to this notice from making a right turn into the road specified in relation to that road in column 2 of the said Schedule. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon works to the carriageway and replacement of streetlighting lanterns and cabling in connection with A38 flyover works. The order will be operative from 18 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 18 months duration. See Schedule 3 for alternative routes.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Station Road which extends from a point 575m north of Chase Lane northwards for 90m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon vegetation clearance works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 19 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Tabernacle Road which extends from High Street north eastwards for 60m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order became operative from 29 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. 

Alternative route: High Street, Chapel Road, Tabernacle Road (parts unaffected) and vice versa.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pedestrian crossing resurfacing works. The order became operative from 28 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

(Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has suspended, temporarily, the bus lane in that length of A38 Gloucester Road North which extends from a point 80m south Elm Park southwards for 275m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with mobility crossing installation works. The order became operative from 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The measures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has:- a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspended, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Weight Restriction Zone – Frampton Cotterell Area) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2001 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths of A432 Badminton Road – Lay-by north of the viaduct, Coalpit Heath.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has –

1. prohibited, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice from making a right turn onto the roads specified in column 2 of the said Schedule between the hours and on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule.
