MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 12 TO 11
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M27 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
The effect of the Order would be to impose a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on the westbound carriageway of the M27 between points approximately 1170 metres and approximately 2250 metres north-west of the centreline of Junction 12 western-most overbridge.
This measure would be in the interests of road safety owing to the danger to the public posed by Variogard installation following a parapet strike. Please see National Highways website for details.
The Order would come into force on 8th May 2026 and continue for a maximum of 18 months or until the danger has been resolved, whichever is sooner.
The temporary speed limit would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when it is in operation during the danger period.
