(TEMPORARY WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the A5 Trunk Road at Towcester in West Northamptonshire.
The effect of the Order, will be to prohibit, with exemptions, any goods vehicle which has a maximum gross weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes from entering or proceeding on –
i) the A5 from its junction with Old Tiffield Road, to its junction with Northampton Road and Brackley Road at Towcester; and
ii) the A5 from its junction with Northampton Road and Brackley Road, to its roundabout junction with Cowpastures Lane and Taunton Way at Towcester.
The weight restriction as indicated by traffic signs will commence at 20:00 hours on Tuesday 28 April 2026. The Order will come into force on 28 April 2026 and will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
An alternative route for through goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be via Taunton Way and the A43.
