(SALTOAK ROAD, PRESTON LANCASTER ROAD, BAY HORSE, LANCASTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of roads;
I. Saltoak Road, Bay Horse from its junction with Hollins Lane, to its junction with Preston Lancaster Road.
II. Preston Lancaster Road, Bay Horse from its junction with Saltoak Road to its junction with Bay Horse Lane.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 0800 hours and 1500 hours from Tuesday 5th May 2026 until Wednesday 6th May 2026 until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Preston Lancaster Road – A6 Lancaster Road – A6 Main Road – Salt Oak Road and Nive Versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the pointing up of fractures and installation of date tabs to aid future monitoring of the displaced / fractured section of the wall located to the corner of the High Mileage end and return section works to be carried out on behalf of Network Rail.
