ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CATON ROAD, LANCASTER, LANCASTER CITY) (REVOCATION, PROHIBITION OF WAITING, RESTRICTION OF LOADING AND GOODS VEHICLE LOADING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 10th April 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (Lancaster Area) (On Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Consolidation Order 2009" insofar as it relates to Item (4) of Schedule 14.07.
2. Introduce a prohibition of waiting at any time in the following lengths of road:
a) Caton Road, Lancaster, the north west side, from its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road for a distance of 45 metres in a north easterly direction;
b) Caton Road, Lancaster, the north west side, from a point 72 metres north east of its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road to its junction with the Centreline of Kingsway;
c) Caton Road, Lancaster, the south east side, from its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road for a distance of 216 metres in a north easterly direction.
3. Introduce a restriction of loading between 8am and 9:30 am, and 4pm and 6pm in the following lengths of road:
a) Caton Road, Lancaster, the north west side, from its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road for a distance of 45 metres in a north easterly direction;
b) Caton Road, Lancaster, the north west side, from a point 72 metres north east of its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road to its junction with the Centreline of Kingsway;
c) Caton road, Lancaster, the south east side, from its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road for a distance of 400 metres in a north easterly direction.
4. Introduce a goods vehicle loading bay in Caton Road, Lancaster, the north west side, from a point 45 metres north east of its junction with the Centreline of Bulk Road for a distance of 27 metres in a north easterly direction.

This Order will come into force on the 27th April 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PJ, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils Website

quoting ref: LSG4/ 894_20175/AFR Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
