Various Roads In Respect Of Pre-patching Works - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN RESPECT OF PRE-PATCHING WORKS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make
an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting
vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Tettenhall Road closed from its junction with Henwood Road to its junction with
Chapel Ash. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for 2 days between
5th May 2026 and 12th May 2026, between the hours 19:00 and 05:00. Vehicular
Diversion Route: (A41, A464, A442, A458, A454) The Rock, Wergs Road,
Holyhead Road, Newport Road, Holyhead Road, Park Street, Market Place,
Victoria Road, Priorslee Road, Castle Farm Interchange, Naird Roundabout,
Randlay Roundabout, Queensway, Stirchley Roundabout, Queensway,
Brockton Way. Brockton Roundabout, Bridgnorth Road, Mill Street, Cann Hall
Road, Hospital Lane, Kidderminster Road, Bridgnorth Bypass, Stourbridge
Road, Bridgnorth Road, Compton Road West, Compton Road, and vice versa.
· Patrick Gregory Road closed in its entirety. Access/egress to frontages
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
7th May 2026 and 13th May 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00.
· Stafford Road closed from its junction with Broadlands to its junction with
Wobaston Road Roundabout. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for
one day between 12th May 2026 and 18th May 2026, between the hours of
19:00 and 05:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Stafford Road, Watlings Street,
Wolverhampton Road, Cannock Road, Stafford Street, Stafford Road & vice
versa.
· Stafford Road closed from its junction with Wobaston Road Roundabout to its
junction with Three Tuns Lane Island. It is anticipated that the closure will
operate for one day between 12th May 2026 and 18th May 2026, between the
hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Stafford Road, Watlings
Street, Wolverhampton Road, Cannock Road, Stafford Street, Stafford Road &
vice versa.
· Steelhouse Lane closed from its junction with Bilston Road to its junction with
Cable Street. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for 2 days between
13th May 2026 and 21st May 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Dixon Street, Bilston Road and vice versa.
· Sandringham Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated
that the closure will operate for one day between 18th May 2026 and 22nd May
2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Birchwood Road, Mount Road and vice versa.
· Chequerfield Drive closed in its entirety. Access/egress to frontages maintained.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19th May 2026
and 22nd May 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00.
· Chester Avenue closed in its entirety. Access/egress to frontages maintained. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19th May 2026
and 22nd May 2026, between the hours of 09:00 and 14:30.
· Pond Lane closed from its junction with Caledonia Road to its junction with Silver
Birch Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
20th May 2026 and 26th May 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Derry Street, Birmingham Road, Silver Birch Road &
vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates specified above, between
the times stipulated.
The Order is required to facilitate pre-patching prior to surface treatment works in
the carriageway.
