LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(LANGTHWAITE BROW AND WYRESDALE ROAD, LANCASTER, LANCASTER CITY) (REVOCATION AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 09 April 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (Various Roads, Lancaster, Pendle and Ribble Valley Boroughs) (Revocation, 20mph, 30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 2019" insofar as it relates to Item (b) of Schedule 4.
2. Introduce a 40mph speed limit in the following lengths of road:
a) Langthwaite Brow, Lancaster, from its junction with Wyresdale Road for a distance of 72 metres in a south easterly direction;
b) Wyresdale Road, Lancaster, from a point 96.5 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Grab Lane to its junction with Langthwaite Brow.
This Order will come into force on the 27th April 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PJ, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
