Lowestoft - Temporary Road Closure Due To Level Crossing Testing
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1531 Victoria Road, Lowestoft
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1531 Victoria Road, Lowestoft at the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate annual crossing testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: the B1531, the A12, the A1117, the A146 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 11:00pm on 01/05/2026 – 5:00am on 02/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Centurion Site Services. Tel: (01132) 775360.
