THE A14 TRUNK ROAD (THRAPSTON TO CATTHORPE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A14 Trunk Road, between Thrapston and Catthorpe, in West Northamptonshire and North

Northamptonshire, to allow routine maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to close,  in phases, any layby situated adjacent to -

(a)  the westbound carriageway of the A14 from its junction with the entry slip road leading from its roundabout junction with the A45 and the A605 (Thrapston Interchange),  at Thrapston, to its junction with the M6 at Catthorpe; and

(b)  the eastbound carriageway of the A14 from its junction with the M6 at Catthorpe, to its junction with the entry slip road leading from Thrapston Interchange.

The laybys will be closed between 13:00 hours and 06:00 hours. The work is expected to start on Monday 11 May 2026 and continue for approximately ten weeks. The Order will come into force on 8 May 2026.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
