Bridge Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Annual Level Crossing Testing
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A146 BRIDGE ROAD, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A146 Bridge Road, Lowestoft from the level crossing for 20 metres north eastbound and 20 metres south westbound to facilitate the annual crossing test. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A146, the A12, the A1117, the A146 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 11pm on 29/04/2026 - 5am on 30/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
