What is happening?

ABANDONMENT – LITTLE
VICTORIA CAR PARK, BELFAST

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion that the road is
not necessary for road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order
under Article 68 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, the effect of
which would be to abandon-
• an area of 213.976 square metres of road at Little Victoria Street Car Park
extending from a point 10 metres north of its junction with Downshire
Place for a distance of 23 metres in a northerly direction.
• an area of 137.184 square metres of road previously known as Little
Brunswick Street now incorporated within Little Victoria Street Car Park
extending from No. 2 Bruce Street for a distance of 12 metres in a
southerly direction.
The areas of road proposed to be abandoned are delineated on a map which,
together with a copy of a draft order, may be inspected free of charge during
office hours within the period 15th April 2026 to 22nd May 2026 at DfI TRAM
Eastern Division, Hydebank House, 4a Hospital Road, Ballydollaghan,
Belfast, BT8 8JL or viewed online at

CONTROL OF TRAFFIC – BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled
The Control of Traffic (Belfast) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026. The Order will-
• remove waiting restrictions on a length of Ravenhill Road;
• amend existing cycle lanes and cycle tracks on lengths of Ormeau
Embankment, Ormeau Road and Ravenhill Road;
• provide a segregated one-way cycle track on a length of Ormeau
Embankment;
• provide segregated two-way cycle tracks on lengths of Ormeau
Embankment and a length of Ravenhill Road; and
• provide shared footway/cycle tracks in the Ormeau Embankment and
Ravenhill Road areas.
Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.

SPEED LIMIT – ORMEAU
EMBANKMENT, BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled
The Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026. The Order
will:–
• apply a 30 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Ormeau Embankment,
Belfast;
• apply a 40 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Ormeau Embankment,
Belfast; and
• revoke a speed limit relating to Ormeau Embankment, Belfast.
Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.

TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME
RAVENHILL ROAD/ORMEAU
EMBANKMENT, BELFAST
Notice is hereby given that under ‘Article 65’ of the ‘Roads (Northern Ireland)
Order 1993’ the Department for Infrastructure proposes the installation of
traffic calming measures on all minor road accesses that junction with the
Ravenhill Road, Belfast to control the speed of traffic.
The works will consist of the installation 1.No flat top road hump at all minor
road accesses that junction with the Ravenhill Road. The proposed road
humps varying 5-10m long, kerb to kerb width and are 60mm high. Location

of road humps are indicated in drawing number UK0039665-WSP-AT-
TM036-D-H-000040-000048.

All road humps will be constructed in accordance with the ‘Road Humps
Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999’. All road markings and signage will be
in accordance with the ‘Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997’.
