What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District Council using its
powers under Article 8A of the Road Traffic Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order
1997, proposes to temporarily restrict and prohibit vehicles for the following event

The following restriction and prohibition of traffic has been requested by Feile
Chamlocha for the purposes of Crooked Lake Triathlon.
Roads: Newtown Road, Sturgan Brae and Ballynaleck Road, Camlough
Junctions: Newtown Road from junction with A25 (known locally as Kanes
Corner) to its junction with the A25 at the point known locally as the Silo.
Sturgan Brae from junction at A25 to the junction with Ballynaleck Road.
Ballynaleck Road will be restricted to local access only.
The restriction will start on Saturday 6 June 2026 from 9am to 5pm (Newtown
Road), 1.30pm to 5pm (Sturgan Brae) and 1.30pm to 3.30pm (Ballynaleck Road).
Alternative routes will be signed.
A copy of the road closure request application form, route and diversion maps may
be inspected electronically at

or in person during
normal office hours at the Council’s Newry or Downpatrick Office address below.

The closing date for written representations is: Monday 11 May 2026 at 5pm
