What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding part of
Painsthorpe Lane, Kirby Underdale from its junction
with the road to Beech Farm eastbound to reservoir
and the full length of road to Beech Farm, Painsthorpe
commencing 11 May 2026 until 21 June 2026 daily
between the hours of 08.00 until 18.00.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of Painsthorpe Lane, Kirby Underdale from its
junction with the road to Beech Farm to allow
carriageway work to commision water main work, to
be carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed
within 42 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Painsthorpe Lane, Howe Lane, Uncleby Road,
Uncleby Hill, Roman Road, Kirby Underdale CP,
Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but will
be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence on 11 May 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months
or until the works which it is proposed to carry out
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
