What is happening?

SECTION 14 (1) - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF MAIN STREET, BISHOP WILTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Main Street, Bishop Wilton from the side
of number 22 south bound until the junction of
Beckside Road commencing 18 May 2026 to allow
for sewer lining and enabling works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within five days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
Belthorpe Lane, Bolton Lane, Eastfield Road, Main Street,
Fangfoss Road, Feoffee Lane, Meltonby Lane,
Meltonby Road, Pocklington Lane, Park Lane Close,
Yapham CP, Bishop Wilton CP, Fangfoss CP,
Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maitained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
