What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
PART OF SAND LANE, WILBERFOSS
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding along part
of Sand Lane, Wilberfoss from its junction with
Newbridge Lane heading west bound to Bankburn
Grange commencing 15 May 2026.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of Sand Lane, Wilberfoss to install ducting and
chambers for fiber network works, to be carried out
and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed
within seven days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Feoffee Common Lane, A1079 York Road,
A1079 Hull Road, Bolton Lane, Newbridge Lane,
Sand Lane, Newton on Derwent CP, Barmby Moor CP,
Wilberfoss CP, Fangfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial
Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians.
The Order will commence on 15 May 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
