SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:

(STR001227 B4000 Shrivenham Rd, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for SSE and will impose a prohibition of driving on B4000 Shrivenham Road between Fresden Lane and B4508 Watchfield Road. Traffic to be diverted via B4000 Shrivenham Road, A361 Swindon Road, A361 Highworth Road, A361 between Honda North and South Roundabouts, A419, A420 Oxford Road, B4000 Shrivenham Road, A420, Townsend Road, B4000 Highworth Road. The Order comes into force on the 8 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 8 and 29 May 2026.

(STR001281 Fpath 38 Wrington) This Order is being introduced for DEVELOPMENT WORKS and will impose a closure of PROW Footpath WR38 north of Ridgeway Leisure Centre. Pedestrians to be diverted via Belmont Gardens, Lister Road footpath, rear of Swindon Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 4 May 2026 for 6 months.

(STR001296 Crombe Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Crombe Street rear of No 30. Traffic to be diverted via Crombe Street, Newhall Street, Commercial Road, Whitney Street, Crombe Street. The Order comes into force on the 13 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 13 and 15 May 2026.

(STR001292 Corby Avenue, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for SSE and will impose a prohibition of driving on Corby Avenue between No’s 24 to 47. Traffic to be diverted via Lambourn Avenue, Marlborough Road and Scotby Avenue. The Order comes into force on the 20 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 20 and 27 May 2026.

(STR001285 Goor Lane, Aldbourne) This Order is being introduced for CIRCET UK and will impose a prohibition of driving on Goor Lane at the junction with Russley Park. Traffic to be diverted via Baydon Road. The Order comes into force on the 21 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 21 and 27 May 2026.

(STR001229 Highworth Road and Sevenhampton Lane, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for SSE and will impose a prohibition of driving on Highworth Road from rear of South Marston Industrial Estate to junction with Bellingham Lane and Sevenhampton Lane between junction with Bellingham Lane to junction with B4000 Shrivenham Road. Closure to be done under 5 phases. Traffic to be diverted via B4000 Shrivenham Road, A361 Swindon Road and Highworth Road to Honda North Roundabout, A361 to Honda South Roundabout, A419 to White Hart Roundabout, A420, Thornhill Road, Highworth Road. The Order comes into force on the 29 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 29 May to 27 July 2026.

(STR001299 Manchester Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Manchester Road to the rear of No’s 120 and 121. Traffic to be diverted via Ponting Street and Gladstone Street. The Order comes into force on the 5 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 5 and 7 May 2026.

(STR001297 Kingsdown Lane, South Marston) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Kingsdown Lane, Blunsdon, outside of Fairview. Access to be maintained for residents. The Order comes into force on the 11 May 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 11 and 15 May 2026.

(STR001345 Marlborough Park, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for development works and will impose a closure of the footways on Lowry Way and Hayman Crescent outside Wakefield House. Pedestrian to be diverted via opposite footway. The Order comes into force on the 27 April 2026 for 12 months.
