Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Woodview, Shevington) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Woodview, Shevington on 1st June 2026 until 5th June 2026.

The alternative route for traffic is: Churchfield

The Order is necessary to allow electricity cable installation.

Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley from 8th June 2026 to 9th June 2026.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible. The Order is necessary to allow cable recovery.

Thirlmere Street, Leigh – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Thirlmere Street, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 5th May 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Thirlmere Street, Leigh on 5th May 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.

The alternative route for traffic is: Boughey Street – Milton Street – Railway Road – Fairhurst Street.

The Order is necessary to allow Frame and Cover.

Gawsworth Road, Wigan – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough

(Gawsworth Road, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 18th May 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Gawsworth Road, Wigan from 18th May 2026 to 26th May 2026.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible. The Order is necessary to allow sewer repair.

Frog Lane, Wigan – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Frog Lane, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 18th May 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Frog Lane, Wigan at Railway Bridge from 18th May 2026 to 07th June 2026 between the hours of 23:30-06:00am only Monday to Fridays, 23:30-07:00 only on Saturdays and 23:30-10:00 only on Sundays.

The alternative route for traffic is: Gidlow Lane – Parsons Walk – New Market Street.

The Order is necessary to allow access / assessment of bridge.
