What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0601053 FULWOOD, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 24th May, 2026, remaining in force until the 24th November, 2026 or until any necessary works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of the Public Footpath indicated below:-

Part of Public Footpath FP0601053 Fulwood, Preston, from Beechwood Avenue at Point A (SD 5210 3160) in a generally north, north westerly direction for approximately 170 metres to Point B (SD 5201 3172).

The temporary closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in this order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking any necessary works.
