What is happening?

Manchester City Council proposes to make the CITY OF MANCHESTER (LONGLEY LANE AND HARLING ROAD, NORTHENDEN) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following: NO WAITING AT ANY TIME: Harling Road, (i) north-west side from Longley Lane south westerly for 15m,
(ii) south-east side from Longley Lane south westerly for 15m. Longley Lane, (i) south-east side from Harling Road south-easterly for 12m,
(ii) north-west side from Harling Road north-westerly for 23m. NO WAITING MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8AM- 6PM: Longley Lane,
(i) north-east side from Elmfield Avenue south-easterly to a point 53m north-west of Royle Green Road,
(ii) north-west side from 23m north-west of Harling Road north-westerly to 174m north-west of Harling Road,
(iii) south-west side from a point 12m east of Harling Road south-easterly to a point 140m northwest of Sharston Road.
A copy of the proposed Order, a Statement of Reasons, and a plan showing the proposals can be requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or examined in person by appointment at the Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm. Objections to the proposals must be sent in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or to the address below, stating the grounds on which they are made, no later than 11th May 2026.
