(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.17) ORDER 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council has made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The effect of the Order is to regulate existing disabled parking bays on the following lengths of road in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells

Disabled Parking Holders Only

ALBION ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS – north west side – between points 65 metres and 72 metres north east of its junction with Granville Road

BELFIELD ROAD, PEMBURY - west side – between points 207 metres and 214 metres north of its junction with Hastings Road

CANTERBURY ROAD, PEMBURY – north west side between points 58 metres and
64.6 metres south west of its junction with Henwood Green Road

CULVERDEN PARK, TUNBRIDGE WELLS – north side between points 43 metres and
50 metres west of its junction with Culverden Park Road

MONTGOMERY ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS – on the north side between points
47 metres and 55 metres east of its junction with Cunningham Road

RUSTHALL ROAD, RUSTHALL – on north side between points 54 metres and
60.6 metres east of its junction with Manor Road

TUNNEL ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS – on east side between points 66.4 metres and
73 metres north of its junction with Belgrave Road

NORTHGROVE ROAD, HAWKHURST – on north side – between points 18 metres and
25 metres east of its junction with Western Road

The Order also introduces restrictions in the following lengths of road in Tunbridge Wells

Limited Waiting 8am-6pm 2 hours No Return Within 4 hours

Permit Holders Only (B) 8am-6pm

ALBION ROAD – north west side – between points 46 and 53 metres south west of
St James Road to replace a redundant vehicle access marking

Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-5pm 1 hour No Return Within 4 hours

Permit Holders Only (C) Mon-Sat 8am-8pm

DUDLEY ROAD – south side – between points 40 and 44 metres west of Mount Pleasant Road to replace a redundant vehicle access marking

Permit Holders Only (B) 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm

NORMAN ROAD – south-east side – between points 25 metres and 31.6 metres north east of its junction with Beech Street to replace a disabled parking bay

Permit Holders Only (D) Mon – Sat 10am to 11am

PARK STREET – south-west side – between points 90 metres and 95 metres south-east of its junction with Prospect Road to replace a motorcycle bay

The Order was made on 16 April 2026 and its provisions will come into effect on
27 April 2026.

A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the made Order may be examined at The Amelia Scott, Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1AW or viewed online from 23 April 2026 at tunbridgewells.gov.uk/consultation. Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
