What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FP0610102, FP0610103 & FP0610104 WOODPLUMPTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpaths indicated below:-

Those parts of Public Footpaths FP0610102, FP0610103 & FP0610104 Woodplumpton, Preston, from Maxy House Road (GR 349914,432779) at Point A in a generally southerly direction for approximately 117 metres and from Maxy House Road (GR 349967,432828) at Point B in a generally southerly direction for approximately 155 metres to Ribbleswood Chase (GR 349969,432675) at Point C.

The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in this order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking the works.

The Order will be operative from the 20th April, 2026, for a period of 2 months or until the works are completed within this period.
