Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Birkett Road, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 5 May 2026
Ref: SW26.27-001
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Electricity Limited to lay trench in carriageway and works associated for new electricity supply. This order will become operative on the 5 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 14 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 23 June 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water PLC to provide new water supplies. This order will become operative on the 23 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water PLC to replace a district meter. This order will become operative on the 26 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Footpath Hawke Road to Lower Norton Lane, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 7 July 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited to complete utility works and drilling. This order will become operative on the 7 July 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 20 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water Services Limited to replace a manhole cover and frame. This order will become operative on the 20 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9.30am and 1.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities Limited for laying new service. This order will become operative on the 13 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Uphill Road South, Uphill, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 27 April 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water PLC to replace a leaking fire hydrant. This order will become operative on the 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 7 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited to access carriageway boxes to provide service to customer. This order will become operative on the 7 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the phased works which is anticipated to be of 1 night in duration between 8pm and 5am. The commencement of the phased closures are approximate and subject to the progression of the works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule – West Street (A371) from junction with High Street to junction with Church Street. East Street (A368) from junction with A371 for approximately 35m.

However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 26 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration between 8pm and 6am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 29 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration.
