Watchet - Temporary Footway Closure Due To Gas Works

What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Watchet Temporary Closure of Footway Between St Decumans Road And Brendon Road and F1132/90 Urban Footpath

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order, the effect of which will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along; Footway Between St Decumans Road And Brendon Road - from the junction with South Road, south-eastwards for a distance of 23 metres and F1132/90 Urban Footpath - from the junction with Severn Terrace to the junction with Footway Between St Decumans Road And Brendon Road. A total distance of 50 metres.This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas mains replacement works.

The Order becomes effective on 16th April 2026 and will remain in force for 6 months. The works are expected to commence on 20th April 2026 and last until 26th May 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 37 days. There is no alternative route for this closure.
